Have we decided yet whether or not we want to try and reserve a room for the summer? Or are there not enough people interested? Also, if we do have meetings, any ideas or suggestions as for what to watch? I personally was hoping to show... - Black Lagoon [dub] (24 episodes)
- Noein [dub or sub] (24 episodes + awesome outtake reels)
- The SoulTaker [dub or sub] (13 episodes + 6 episode OVA)
- One Piece Movie 8 [dub] (1.5+ hours, or about 4 slots)
- L: Change the WorLd (2+ hours, or about 6 slots; still can't find a sub anywhere)
- Soul Eater (52 episodes)
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2 (provided, of course, that it comes out any time soon)
Also, in addition to standard meetings, is there anything else we want to do in terms of club activities? Both Youmacon and the Death Note movie screening seem to have garnered interest, and several people have contributed ideas to the AMV-Hell-style video we've been working on, but is there anything else you guys think we should do?

2 things, 1 you need to worry about who runs it. Again, aren't we in the process of working that out as we speak? 2 we do have a strong no dub showings bent............. Why watch an inferior product? After all, to date, you're the only one both in the club or otherwise who prefers the Black Lagoon sub over the dub.

I'll watch the geneon sub then rather then the shinsen Again, why watch the sub when the dub is almost universally considered superior?

Provided I will be able to remain here through the summer, I have been thinking of hosting a few of my traditional weekender events.
What a weekender usually entails for me is simply this: I choose a series (or collectively we choose a series) and then I marathon through said series over the course of a weekend. We would have occasional breaks for food, ADDness, games, ect. But after the weekend we would have seen the whole series.
Depending on the length of said show, we could watch 2 or more. Or cut the event short to only being 1 or 2 days.
Where would this happen at? My place. My bedroom has room to seat 7 people comfortably without having to be on the floor, and more if people decide to sit on the floor. I will offer directions upon request when an event is decided upon.
Since I would be running it, the sub/dub thing doesn't matter to me as much. I myself tend to swing towards Subs most of the time, but I also will leave things up to a consensus of those in attendance.
And as always, more details can be hashed out later once I/we decide to hold one of these things.

I prefer sub most of the time also, but I am always in for watching a good dub. I would be willing to do stuff over the summer. In fact, I do not mind hosting/planning. However, my house is out of the way so It might be a bad Idea to do it at my house. I think that we should try doing this at a person's house.
We should also think about recording commentaries.

Two other discussions to have, Should we keep to friday meetings (dead zone on campus) or consider going for far harder to get time slots on thursdays this fall'? (to maybe draw more people)

I don't mind, fridays would most likely be better for me. However it depends on my schedule for the fall.

the time doesn't necessarily matter to me as much. I myself don't know my fall schedule yet. All I know is I wont be working, so work won't get in the way.

Fridays are probably our best bet if only because of the test factor. If it's on any other day, any number of us might have to skip because we're busy studying or preparing for a test. If it's on Friday, though, there's no real conflict since it's the beginning of the weekend.
