Okay, so I saw a lot of people seemed interested in the idea of doing a parody fansub/abridging, so just out of curiosity, I'm curious as to how people want to see this done and what they want to see it done with.
(For the sake of clarity: Parody-subbing would involve taking a full episode and rewriting the sub script, whereas for an Abridged series, we would cut the episode down to six or seven minutes and both rewrite and voice it)
If you guys are interested, vote for the format you want the parody to be in above, and suggest shows you'd like to see parodied below. Once enough people vote and give their suggestions, we'll vote on which show we want to do and discuss ideas at a future meeting.

I think that doing an adbridged series would be a lot more fun, because we could have more people working on it and have a different club member for ever voice part. I think we could make an interesting abridged series out of Kampfer. It seems there'd be a ton of funny stuff we could make those characters say in those strange situations. I'm sure there's a few other shows we could do. I'll make a few more suggestions later on.

I think possibly an abridged Pokemon or Dragaonball Z series would be fun to do, and funny as hell to watch. Other series that we could possible do funny abridgings of might be: Zero no Tsukaima, Toradora!, and Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka. The female leads in those series make a lot of funny actions that we could possibly work with. Hope this helps.

A lot of Abridged Series consist of those parodying more popular anime (ie, DBZ, et al.), so I was wondering if we could do something more obscure. Then again, everyone here has seen a lot of anime that I haven't seen, so I would be left in the dust as to what anime we are referencing to and why that is funny.
Popular choices here seem to be Fate/Stay Night, Tsukihime, Code Geass, Macross Frontier, and Nanoha. But what I'm really hoping for is K-On: Abridged! Think of it: the series would consist of only one 10 min episode and it would mostly consist of a bunch of guys saying weird crap that we wish girls would say.
I call voice acting as Tsumugi. Have at it.

An abridged series of Code Geass or K-On! would be amazing. I would definitely be willing to voice act as Lelouch/Zero in Code Geass or Yui Hirasawa in K-On!.

ed335dot brings up a concern of mine with this, who in our mostly male club will do the female voices? While I like my speaking voice, it's not exactly one that would be considered 'girly'. Secondly, what sort of technology do we need to take part?
Digimon season 2 might make a great parody. With creative editing we could even create a random story with characters from different series, the possibilities are endless!

All we need is a quality mic and audio/video editing software, all of which I can provide.
I'm going to continue taking suggestions for one more week, then we can vote on Friday for which series we want to do and decide on a cast.
And I wouldn't worry too much about girly voices. After all, lots of abridged series have males doing female roles; plus if necessary, I can always use Audacity to pitch up voices if necessary.

My official suggestions: Zero no Tsukaima, Toradora!, Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka, Shakugan no Shana, Code Geass, K-On!, Needless, and Black Lagoon. I am willing to do any female roles in any of the series, specifically Yui from K-On!, Louise from ZnT, Taiga or Ami from Toradora!, Yuuhi from AnSS, Shana from Shana, Eve from Needless, and Revy from Black Lagoon. Specific male characters I would like to portray would be Lelouch/Zero from Code Geass and Rock from Black Lagoon.

I am going to stress that a Needless abridged series would be ridiculously hilarious. There are tons of things we could do, we could have Eve over-exaggerate nicknames even more, and have endless fun with Blade and The Pretty Girl Squad.

A Needless abridged series would be interesting, but how could we rewrite it to make it any goofier than it already is? Unless... ...we make it serious? I think we could definitely work to make Needless even goofier than it already is, I don't think it would be very funny if we made it serious, but that may be a good idea as well. I haven't seen all of Index yet, but it seems like there's a lot to work with in that series as well.
