As most people around here know i'm a political scientist and historian by trade, so the event that has just happened strikes me fairly deep, i'm also a Catholic, and member of the democratic party.
The nation has lost Edward (Ted) Kennedy to cancer, he whose brothers fell to the bullets of assassins, would leave their shadows and become one of the most important americans of the last half century.
For much of that time he fought for health care for all, as grand could have been for him to see it within his life time, it seems that it is not the fate of the Kennedy to see his work fulfilled. The late president John F Kennedy, would not live to see man land on the moon or the passage of the civil rights act, and yet thous would happen. Robert F Kennedy would not live to see the fruits of the civil rights act, but now today we have an man of color who holds the highest office in the land. Ted won't see Health care come from the field but he will from the grandstand.
Rest in Peace, you earned it, time for us to finish the job
