Spring Break Meeting 3/7/2009

Ok, last night we shortly discussed the possibility of holding a meeting during break. After some looking around my room and things I think we can do this at my place.

So, unless anyone else has any ideas or wants to do it, I'm offering up my place for a meeting of sorts for this coming Saturday. (I'm not holding anything Friday night cuz' of Watchmen)

We will not be showing what we normally show on club nights however. Instead I plan to show some good portions of a bunch of different series. Like 3~6 episodes. Some movies, some OVAs and well, anything else we decide on.

I plan to start around 2 PM and go to whenever we all decide to stop. We'll do food sometime when we decide to. If someone wants to bring snacks and/or some drinks it'd be cool. We can also take breaks for games or other stuff too if peeps want to.

Right now there is no set schedule. I have a ton of stuff to offer up, and I'm sure others have some too. Discuss in this topic some possibilities and well, bring stuff. We'll figure out what we want to watch then.

I would also like it if everyone planning to come let me know they are. Directions will be provided in private as I do not want to post my address publicly on a forum, the same will go for my cell #. PMs will work fine.

As a final note, for those of you who are new this will be a small preview to how any showings during the summer I hold will be like. I do plan to hold a few this summer and perhaps begin a tradition of having similar type showings throughout the year. Just keep in mind this will probably be the last time we'll do this at my current place since I will be moving in the next few months.

well of 24 members we have 1 staff, 5 members, and 7 guests who have looked at the board in the last 24 hr, now i don't know how many of the guests overlap with members but it means at least via grape vine info will get out.

I told everyone last night I'd post info to the forums. It's really up to them to bother reading it. And yeah luke, you should have my address. Not sure on shows to bring, but some games might be cool, since I don't have a Wii.

No prob. At the very least, I'll bring TvC, Brawl, and Mario Kart; maybe a few GameCube games as well.

Well, I know I lack SF4 as well as multiple controllers for the 360. Beyond that, not really sure.

So far there's been no discussion of possible series. The format I've chosen is essentially set forth as a means to show those of you who haven't seen a series and are curious about it a few episodes in order to get you acclimated to it and possibly want to see more. To that extent I can offer up my collection, which can be browsed here: ngsilver.com/collection/ Though that is not everything I have to offer as I will be updating that list when I start packing everything up for the move. I've got a bunch of stuff on my PC as well as a large number of series on VCD and VHS.

I've seen the majority of what I have, so I can't really say what of my collection would be good candidates though IMO all of it is.

Well I can bring my PS3 and SFIV if people want it. I also could bring little big planet as well if people would want that.

As for series, I've got the complete IGPX run, the complete Noein run, the first season of Black Lagoon, half of One Piece's first season, and a number of others, and that's not including the stuff I have on my external like Bartender, Yakitate, and Tales.

I suppose i should also add, while I myself tend to prefer Subs over Dubs generally for most series, that by no means will require us to watch only the Sub of any series. Instead it will be based on what the majority want.

I wouldn't mind catching some Black Lagoon since I haven't seen it.
