Yes, but can it play Wii games?
On that note, if you've got the homebrew channel installed or a modified Twilight Princess save on your Wii, don't install the latest update, or you may risk a severe bricking.

cant u just import a japanese wii??
or reset your wii and make location and langauge in japanese to fool it??

It's not that easy, unfortunately. And are you willing to donate however much in yen we'd need to import a Japanese Wii just to play one game which in itself would add to the cost?

i see , its about the same price as a english wii but due to our dollar sux'ing compared to others lately it would be a bit less in US dollars ,
250,000 yen about 250$ for my auto way of conversion but with recent dollar value about 222$
does this concept apply to the DS too?? could it be possible to import a japanese DS game and play it on a american bought DS?
that was just a thought i came up with if it applys for ds too or not

The DS is region free no matter where you get it. So you don't need to change any settings on an American DS if you want to play, say, Jump Ultimate Stars for example.
