That's all very cool and all, but I'm a little concerned as to how they will do this for Death Note. I vaguely know how the original ends, and I am just not sure that they should continue the series with all of that in place.
Anything more at this point seems to be extraneous and jumping the shark to me. I just think that some stories don't need any continuations and should just end with the message that the creator intended (i.e. Evangelion - even though I said I wanted more from it before, that doesn't mean I want a sequel or anything, just a better picture of Anno's state of mind).
I dunno, maybe that just me since I'm not really a fan and all...
