And we are not meeting at the book store again. We could meet at the school, food court, someone's house nearby, possibly pandemonium. Point is, I do not want to get us kicked out of a store.

Edit: oh right, one more thing. We really need to start working on getting posters put together for welcome week. I'd have to check, but I think that whatever is on display can't promote sex, drugs, etc. so we may need to screen AMV content if we plan to play them.

Actually, I was thinking we could try and find a way to meet on the weekend; that way, we have more time to do stuff and possibly even do some pre-screening.

(Also, if no one has yet, I'll run by OfficeMax later and pick us up a posterboard for our stuff.)

Gabe speaks the truth. The room is reserved for the event, the paperwork for Akira is faxed, and I'm almost ready to fill out the paperwork for the SOAC to have funding for the event

The two holdups: 1) Working on possibly getting a lower price by either going through another company or getting a lower price for having a "bulk" order. There is another movie being shown that Friday through Swank, so we may be able to get a bargain. 2) Apparently Karen Stone still hasn't gotten a response on popcorn pricing. If she isn't able to get it soon, we'll leave ample room in the budget to make the order later or we go with some other snack.

Also the Friday reservation was filed along with some Game Club stuff.

It's good to see this moving. We should try not to wait too long however, since timing is of the essence. I do hope having waited this long to send in the Akira papers wont be a problem. If we get contact from Geneon I want to make sure we try to get permission to use artwork for flyers and posters, or if they will send us some promotional material if they have any. Even if we have some free postcards to hand out to people at the event that would be cool.

If we can't get official promo materials, we can always turn to the magic of cheap photoshopped flyers...

Anyway, any suggestions on how to best approach the pricing issue for Howl? Keep in mind that the solution has to be not just cost-effective, but also applicable within the limited timeframe we have left.

Actually, should we need a place to meet on Saturday, I've got clearance from my folks to have people over on Saturday if I so desire, so if you guys are up for it, then we can meet at my house. I've already bought posterboard for us, and I've got a pretty good setup that we can use to screen stuff, so we should be able to get stuff done.
