thing that pissed me off is of the titles i'm collecting from that list there is only 1 i don't have and it was Kanon vol 6, meaning either i have to wait another year for a new legit copy or funi might expect me to rebuy the whole thing in some boxset
note this also differs from the Geneon thing as Geneon will still profit from the sales where ADV just loses out.

why the heck do you even care about who licenses what. It's not like you are going to watch all the hard work they put into it.

Well for one I like ADV, and two stop it with the "you don't watch dubs so your stupid" line, it's getting annoying, with the volume of anime i have in my collection i really only have time to really watch 1 version, and if i'm goinga do that might as well be the orginal lang w/sub.

also according to one of the blogs i read i'm right Funi is trying to work it out with ADV to have ADV finish the shows as they are, so looks like funi does understand.

I think you're taking this a little too seriously Gabe. It's pretty clear that ADV is in trouble, so obviously they're going to have to let some stuff go in order to make ends meet. And quite frankly, I'd much rather see someone actually DO something with those licenses than let them just sit forever. After all, do you realize just how long Keroro Gunsou alone has been in limbo? (Besides, they've said that they're in negotiations for 23 more new titles, so they're not quite gone yet)
Besides, don't forget that both ADV and Funi are based in Texas, so the cast pool for the dubs will be the same, plus no doubt a lot of ADV employees will probably be making the switch to Funi soon after.
I know you and probably a lot of other people are still super-anal about their treatment of DBZ back in the day, and rightfully so. But just look at all the good that they've been doing over the last few years:
- DBZ uncut box sets featuring the ability to use the dub voices with the Japanese audio (which is freaking awesome) - Rescuing One Piece from the tainted clutches of 4Kids and releasing 13-episode uncut box sets every month or two (the first of which I own, which is ALSO freaking awesome) - Picking up licenses from dying/dead companies as opposed to allowing them to be lost forever (which is REALLY freaking awesome)
You can't deny that they ARE doing a lot of good at the moment. Lighten up a little.

You don't watch dubs so your stupid.
You didn't really invalidate my point anyway.

Personally, I don't see what's the big deal between different companies. I couldn't give a damn about VAs, not entirely because I tend to not watch dubs, but more who gives a fuck who voices what? Seriously, as long as whoever is doing it can pull it off then it doesn't matter. And if one person who you think will be good does a shitty job, it's still a shitty job.
I tend to not like Funi due to inside knowledge, but that doesn't stop me from purchasing their titles that I want. I just stay away from their booths at cons. Either way, it's nice to know that stuff will be brought out. I'm still pissed at ADV for sitting on the last 2 eps of Queen Emeraldes.
