I know that this isn't a new thing (Death Note being one recent example), but it seems that nowadays there are more and more live action anime productions being made or stated for being made in the future.
Even Hollywood has taken the plunge, with Guyver and Aeon Flux being some of their past productions (with mixed results). And they are not stopping now; as far as I know there are these projects to look forward to: Battle Angel Alita (directed by Steven Spielburg), Speed Racer (directed by the Wachowskis of The Matrix fame), Evangelion (which I am very excited about even though it is in Development Sea of Drac), and Card Captor Sakura (just kidding! Though I dunno if I would actually want to watch that or not...).
So what do you think about all of this? Does anime lead very well to live action? And what does an anime have to lose or gain from making the cross over?

I'm just sad at the lack of a LA Sailor Moon movie. No, I'm not talking about the Japanese LA nor am I talking about that crap Sabin came up with. This was suppose to be a Disney thing...
Meh... if there is a good enough budget behind it then yeah, anime can adapt well to LA, as long as it is directed, cast, and cut correctly. With little budget you get a talking plush cat... which isn't fun...

Ugh, you actually saw the live action Sailor Moon? Poor you...
Does anyone remember seeing a live action anime movie? How was that?
As for myself, I remember seeing not one but both Guyver movies as a little kid. I felt that they were fairly cool, but most importantly, the movies got me interested in the actual anime itself. The live-action movies just scratched the surface: turns out a lot of the plot twists to Guyver can only be seen from the anime and manga, which were all mind-blowing.

Ugh, you actually saw the live action Sailor Moon? Poor you... Well, considering SM was my first, and I was an active member of SOS back in the days we were still trying to get the rest of R and the movies... yeah I did ^^() Does anyone remember seeing a live action anime movie? How was that? Well, I've seen City Hunter and Zerhiam 1 and 2... though at least with Zerhiam the LA came before the anime. Both are ok, but really not much better then B monster movie effects and then there is that weird Street Fighter scene from CH...
