You know after playing the game it is very slow. It's very easy to recover. Which in turn makes it very easy to start doing air manuvers. Needless to say I was raping people during free play. I did it with the nunchuk and wiimote too. Man those controls are so awkward. I will stick to the GC controller myself.

After a couple of hours I find myself using the wiimote without the nunchuck. It feels the most natural to me. Currently I am maining Sonic. Pit is probably mybest character though. He is so stupid cheap. With the slow down of the game doing air moves is becoming more important and Pit's awsome aerial moves make him lethal.

Indeed. I thought I'd be using Dedede and Snake a lot more, but they're much harder to use than I expected. I'm currently working at getting better with Sonic, Toon Link, Meta Knight, and Captain Olimar, as I could see any one of them being a potential main. I'll probably experiment with Jigglypuff and Dedede some more as well just to mix things up.
Incidentally, I'm currently working on figuring out how to download custom stages from your computer to your SD card so as to make them playable on you Wii, as well as how to convert the BIN files used for snapshots into JPEG format. I'll let you guys know if I find anything out.

What do you have left to unlock? I can probably help you out... I'm currently trying to find out the unlock methods for all the hidden music tracks (being the massive video game audiophile I am).
Incidentally, I'm going to see if I can bring in Brawl at some point this week. I'll probably bring one GCN controller, one Classic controller, and two Wii-mote/nunchuk combos. The only problem is finding a screen to play it on...

i didn't even look at a guide. I simply went and started playing vs. matches with my family. We have unlocked a good number of characters that way. I only really wanted to try sonic. Snake turned out to be fun too.

Yeah, the easiest way to get characters is either through Vs. Mode matches or Subspace, but most stages are gotten through Vs. Mode as well.
Let's see...three stages are unlocked by clearing certain event matches, three more are unlocked when you unlock certain characters, four are unlocked by playing Vs. Mode matches as certain characters a certain number of times, and two are unlocked by playing on certain stages a certain number of times.

first congrats on your promotion, Jiggly, Toon Link, Game and Watch, Ganon, Wolf have yet to be unlocked, they should be once i get a chance to play a bit. (after wednesday classes)

Haven't played much other then subspace... I probably would have finished it if I wasn't playing with my g/f who had to play first player cuz' it's her game... who also can't jump for to save her life which makes the platforming part of subspace hell to get through...

I was first player, and even I had jumping troubles at times. I blame Diddy Kong.

also if anyone has played online with anyone does it lag on you just wondering since I started playing Brawl online with anyone its been lagging alot tho the last one I was in didn't lag to much so I guess its because of having so many players online at least I hope that's the case

It's not just you. Because Brawl is so popular, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is having technical difficulties. As of now, the "With anyone" option is all but down, and the "With friends" option is laggy as hell. (I tried playing a match earlier, and it was BAD) Such are the consequences of connecting P2P, I suppose...
If you want improved speeds, I saw a help topic on GameFAQs that suggested you change your Wii's wireless settings from NAT3 to NAT2. I'm going to try and fix it up some time tomorrow...

I haven't been having troubles. I played with Pabian and Mike with virtually no lag.
