Just found a point in my day where i could watch the last 4 episodes, and wow, that was hot blooded. That was hot blooded old school in ways TTGL can't hope to match even if they injected hotblooded.
This is the type of action that got me hooked on mecha to start, and at the end of the day it is the type i will always love.
As the Laws of anime state "#20 - Law of Militaristic Unreliability
Huge galaxy-wide armadas, entire armies, and large war machines full of cruel, heartless, bloodthirsty warriors can be stopped and defeated with a single insignificant example of a caring/loving emotion or a song."
And damn was it a song to hear, more on my blog tomorrow, or today rather.

I've been wondering where all the hostility and hate for this show is coming from around these parts. It is almost unanimous in Club that Macross F is junk (we have half the group leaving to get food from the mall across the street when this comes on!).
As far as I know, only Firemage and I give this anime any merit: Firemage has his own tastes, and I find that Macross Frontier stands well on its own and comes packed with a unique sort of energy. But I seem to be alone in this.
So why the hate?

Chowwow, I am not sure about other members but I can speak on my dislike of it. Some of the plot feels a little to forced for my taste. The love triangles arent very interesting to me. I tried to give the series a chance, but the war stopping song only made me go WTF!!!! one one one shift !!!! and not in the good way. I mean it just doesnt connect with me at all.
As for everyone else, I dunno. The show has some potential and it held my interest early on but it feel through towards the end. Thats my two cents.

@ wally2069
I see, thanks. I think I can see how people are annoyed mainly by the heavy reliance on J-pop into the story. The plot and battles are lacking in the epicness seen in previous fare like Macross Plus or Zero.
Still, I'm sticking to it and saving further judgment until we finish the thing. And the visuals are eye sex, which is helping things.

i should point to Macross 7 if your bothered by fights using Jpop, then try bitching about the amount in F

Chowwow: It doesnt necessarily need to be epic, it just needed to connect with me. Its odd because I do not have the highest standards when it comes to series. The eye sex helped in the beginning but it just wasnt enough to save it for me. I am not saying everyone should hate it as I do not. I just prefer to not watch it and get food. Its not very hard to convince me to get food. If you are going to stick it out, I think it lends reason to keep showing the series so the others who like watching it can finish the series. @firemage: Pointing me to something worse than something I already dont have a taste for is not a useful arguement. Its like saying you thought that little fire burned, wait till I get out the gasoline. I do not need a can of gasoline to know I do not like being set on fire. It wasnt just the J Pop either. The plot and characters are just to weak to be interesting to me. I do not like the core and the fluff does not save it. Just one opinion.
