So, the week BEFORE Youma we're probably not gonna meet, but we're still meeting during Youma?
IMO, if you are not at Youma by that time on Friday night, and you like anime, you fail... HARD!

Would it be possible, for the first handful of meetings atleast, to allow for some sort of intermission? That way any visitors or new members could meet the club in a less imposing environment (and it takes some guts for them join our meetings), those who go out for food can do so without missing too much, and we could have some discussion of the shows or anime in general without disrupting another person's experience. That, and our muscles won't be seizing up after sitting through a long meeting.
All we'd have to do is push back the start of a short season anime to allow for this brief intermission.

empiremaker, that is an excellent suggestion. I think we should allow for some sort of intermission so people can meet and great. While many members gather after the meetings, I can understand how it would be very imposing. Having a 15-20 minute break sounds about right. I will bring it up at the first meeting.

Intermission is a great idea. As a way to break the flow and allow for potty breaks and give members a chance to mingle a bit at UK we would show the opening and ending credits. It gives 4~5 mins between each episode for members to do this. Sure it isn't enough time to go out and get food, but usually those who do don't really mind missing an episode.

Most people won't get up and do this though unless the anime is actually stopped. Their mindset will still be to keep watching the anime, or not to get up and take a break because the show is still on.

That isn't necessarily true for people who are just joining the club. They may want to have time to get to know people. I myself can only match about 5 names to faces in the club.
